LAHD describes the United to House LA Income Support Program as part of the City's homelessness-prevention strategy. The program provides financial assistance directly to eligible low-income renter households that have a senior and/or person with a disability and are at risk of being displaced from their homes.
This is a tenant-assistance program, not an apartment listing, affordable-housing lottery or housing-authority waiting list. Open House Rentals tracks it because the assistance can matter to a renter trying to remain housed, but the program's own authorized application process controls participation.
The verified 2025 round is history—not a current opening
LAHD's current program page says the first ULA ISP round in 2025 distributed $9.8 million by providing one-time payments of $20,000 to 494 families. Those figures describe a completed prior round and should not be copied into a 2026 or 2027 post as if the same payment amount, household count or application window is guaranteed for a future round.
A future application period can have different funding, assistance amounts, timing, priorities or implementation details. Until LAHD or an authorized program administrator announces the next intake period, the correct OHR status is PROGRAM WATCH / APPLICATIONS NOT VERIFIED OPEN.
Use the official alert path instead of a social-media application link
LAHD's current page directs people who want tenant-resource updates and notice of when ULA ISP applications open to subscribe to the City's Tenants Programs email list. It also links to the program information destination at gofwd.live/ULAISP.
Use those official channels as the starting point. Before sending identity, disability, income, lease or banking information, confirm that the application destination is linked by LAHD or another authorized program administrator. Do not pay someone to reserve a place in an application round or rely on a copied social post that does not lead back to an official source.
The standing guidelines allow future application periods to vary
The City-approved ULA Income Support Program Guidelines describe an application portal and allow the program administrator, subject to available funding, to establish multiple application periods per year or accept applications on a rolling basis. The guidelines also say the assistance amount is to be determined before each application period.
That framework is important because it explains why a prior round cannot be treated as a permanent benefit schedule. The next authorized notice—not the 2025 payment amount—must control the opening date, application method, available assistance and any current selection or funding priorities.
Prepare without assuming you will qualify
If this program may be relevant to your household, keep contact information current and monitor the official tenant-program notices. Organize the household records you normally keep for housing and benefits matters, but wait for the authorized application instructions before transmitting sensitive documents because the exact documentation requirements can change.
Do not treat the presence of a senior or person with a disability in a household as automatic eligibility. LAHD or its authorized administrator determines current eligibility, funding priorities, documentation, selection and payment. OHR does not pre-screen households or estimate a person's chance of receiving assistance.
How this differs from the LAHD affordable-housing registry
The ULA Income Support Program is intended to help qualifying renters remain housed through direct assistance. LAHD's Affordable and Accessible Housing Registry, by contrast, is a housing-search and waitlist/application tool for covered affordable and accessible properties. They solve different renter problems and should not be blended into one application flow.
Use the OHR AAHR guide when the goal is to find or monitor affordable housing. Use this ULA ISP watch when the goal is to monitor a City income-support program. A household may care about both, but one program does not create eligibility or priority in the other.
